What is Blu Ray Duplication?

A Blu Ray is the optical disc format that is meant for high-density storage of high-definition video and data. Blu Ray is so named because of the special blue laser which is used to read and write the extra-thin bits on the disc. Blue-violet laser is of shorter wavelength than of the red laser used in CD duplication, which allows more information to be stored digitally in the lesser space.

Why CD Duplication?

Every project has its unique specifications, first understand the scope of your project to decide for a cost-effective and sound solution. To decide which one of the process suits your requirement, you should be able to understand:

  • The number of CDs you need
  • The number of project master you have
  • The frequency of the product code change on the project

For the project with the same master and more than 1000 CDs, CD replication is the best choice. But for the projects with different masters or when you require less than 1000 CDs, CD duplication is the preferred choice.

CD duplication is also preferred if your project requires a code change. For an example, if your code changes after every 50 copies, duplication process allows you to duplicate 50 copies before shifting to a new code.

If you need professional help to duplicate your CDs, go to Respondat: on where you can select and evaluate the CD duplicators for your specific requirements.

The Difference between CD Duplication & CD Replication

CD duplication results in identical copies of the CD. It is a digital process. You can duplicate your CD yourself or can have a duplication company to do the job. In duplication, the CDs are reproduced by individually "burning" each CDR with a laser.

CD replication is a process for producing hundreds or thousands of perfect replicas. For the process, a Glass Master, is made and then "stamped" onto blank media. CD replication is a faster process but is not cost effective if replication is required for less than 500 CDs.

Replicated discs play on almost every CD player, whereas duplicated discs can be sensitive to certain models or brands of players.
